Great self defense choice for a S&W M&P 22 WMR
The advertised speeds are clearly for short barrels (2-3"?), and the ammunition is designed for such weapons. However, you can expect better performance with a S&W M&P 22 WMR (4.35" barrel); At minimum, we see around 1300fps (around 150 ft. lbs. with 40g) with this setup. Additionally, semi-auto 22 mags can be ammo finicky. My wife and I have shot hundreds of these rounds with no "failures to load." The same cannot be said for CCI Maxi-Mag hollow points. My wife possesses this weapon for self defense, as she doesn't like the recoil of a larger sidearm, and I feel confident knowing that she has a formidable weapon/round with this combination (especially given the 30+1 capacity).
